The Lab

Equal Measure

A case of weights, half of it out on the bench. Put every piece back so that no tray outweighs another — and no, the case does not tell you what they should come to.

How it works
  1. Every empty nest takes one piece, and every loose piece has a nest to go back to. Nothing is left over and nothing is spare.

    every nest takes a piece
    and the bench ends empty
  2. When the case is made up, every tray weighs the same as every other. Nothing anywhere tells you what that is — the trays are only ever measured against each other.

    the trays end level
    not like this
The goal

Fill every nest so all the trays come to the same total.
