Play Together

An online escape room built for two

Not an escape room that lets two people in. One that needs exactly two: each of you holds clues the other can't see.

Designed around two players

In most escape rooms, two players means two people looking at the same puzzle. One of you usually ends up watching.

Here the clues are split on purpose. Each of you is locked in a different room, and the puzzles are written so that the answer to yours is often on the other side of the door. Neither of you gets left out. The game won't let that happen.

How the clues are split

In The Heist, one of you is out in the exhibition hall. The other is inside the security room.

Player 1 · the exhibition hall
  • A box on your wall needs a code that isn't anywhere in your room.
  • Most of the symbols the other player needs hang on the art around you.
  • The rules of their puzzle are on your wall, and the rules of yours are on theirs.
Player 2 · the security room
  • The other player's code is somewhere in here.
  • A safe needs a set of symbols, and most of them are in the other room.
  • You can only work your puzzle once they read you its rules.

Every room in every game works like this. You describe what you see, the other one works out what it means, and then you swap.

What makes it a real escape room

  • A room you stand in

Look around a 3D room, wall by wall, ceiling to floor.

  • Things you handle

Open drawers and boxes, pick things up, take them where they're needed.

  • Mechanisms that unlock

Keypads, safes, dials and panels that open when you get them right.

  • Clues that connect

Puzzles that lead into each other, until the last one opens the door.

How Play Together works

The Heist

A small museum, two in the morning, and a necklace you came to take. One of you keeps watch out in the hall. The other is inside the security room, with the cameras and the lasers. Each of you can see what the other one needs — and the door only lets go when you both finish.

Questions

Is this a real escape room or just a set of riddles?
A real room. You look around a 3D space, open things, collect what you find and use it where it belongs. The puzzles are in the objects, not in a list of questions.
Do both players see the same room?
No. Each of you is in a different room of the same game, with different objects and clues. That's what makes you need each other.
We've never done an escape room. Is that a problem?
No. The room shows you what to do: look around, open things and work out how they fit. The Heist is a good first one.
How hard are the puzzles?
The Heist is the gentlest. The later games get harder. If you're stuck, there's a hint in every game.
How long does one game take?
Most take 20–30 min. How fast you get out depends on how well the two of you talk.
Do we need any outside knowledge?
No. Everything you need is in the two rooms. No trivia, no guessing what the designer was thinking.
